5 STARS: Host was very responsive and helpful. The deer really do come right up to the house. Our children loved getting to feed them with the food left by the owner. Driveway is steep but home is lovely and clean. We really enjoyed our time away at Valhalla.

5 STARS: Tina is WONDERFUL! She is very helpful and goes above and beyond! the cabin is big with plenty of room.

5 STARS: Very peaceful and the wildlife are friendly! We had deer visit us for snacks daily and it was so sweet. Well appointed place that was very comfortable for 7 adults for 3 nights. Loved having walkable access to the river, which is a lovely soundtrack for your stay. Plenty of towels (separate towels for hot tub) and kitchen items to make meals. We had most everything we needed. This place was not easy to find, so following instructions is very important. Start at Legion Rd for sure; about 15-20 minutes in from gate off of Legion Rd. One lane road turns into a VERY steep driveway......wouldn't want to be there with chance of ice. Bring wood for the fireplace outside and extra carrots for the deer friends. Enjoyed our stay!

5 STARS: The cabin was beautiful! We loved the outdoor fireplace. We really enjoyed sitting out there listening to the river. The cabin is in pristine condition and well stocked. The driveway is very steep. We enjoyed our stay!

5 STARS: Home was beautiful and welcoming! Very nicely decorated. The deer greeted us as we arrived and some stayed there during our whole stay. Feeding wild deer from your hand is a memory that will last forever. This is a mountain home, so roads can be dangerous. My family knew that going in, but some people may not realize mountain roads are different than every day driving. Once you enter the gate, you still have another 2.5 miles to go. The community is huge! We would love to book again!

5 STARS: Amazing stay. As described. Beutiful location above river. Cabin was as described. We were able to also use the gym at the resort center. One amazing perk, every morning many deer come up to your porch and driveway hoping to be fed. Valerie provided plenty of derr food. The cabn was spotless and very comfortable. We enjoyed grilling every evening. Downtown Elijah and shopping was a short drive away whenever we needing something. Great Cabin in excellent condition. Would definitly reccomend and stay again.

The Grateful Getaway is a place we will definitely be coming back to. It has everything you could need for an incredible vacation. We loved enjoying walks with our puppy to the creek each night, and wow, so many deer to watch. We explored Blue Ridge and hiked Long Branch Loop and checked out the Sweet Shoppe. In this quaint little town there is beauty at every turn. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. It was everything we needed for a perfect vacation. 5/5 hands down.

5 STARS: Beautiful home!! Perfect for a weekend getaway. The children really enjoyed seeing all of the deer in the yard and even had a chance to feed some!

We were so lucky to find Valerie's Valhalla on short notice for a 2 day fall break. We were able to bring our dog. The property was easy to find on maps and using the instructions that Valerie provided. The house is located inside the Cootsawatee River Resort and the gate guard takes privacy very seriously. They only allow people in who are on a pre-approved guest/owner list. So it felt very safe and peaceful. It's about a 15 min drive from the house on the mountain road back into Ellijay proper, so we felt like we had the best of both worlds- cute small town with supplies/food AND the peaceful mountain escape. Very convenient especially with little kids. The house sits impressively up a hill- two ensuites and a basement level that was perfect for our 9 year olds to hide out in and have fun. All was clean and neat when we arrived. Well stocked kitchen. Ping Pong table in basement. Deer came right up to the front door to be fed- they keep a bucket of corn mix for them!

5 STARS Great house/lodge for a long Fall weekend getaway. The place was perfect for my group of 7 (three adults and 4 college kids). The place had everything we needed - fully stocked kitchen for meals, hot tub, fire pit for smores and plenty of outdoor space. Lots of deer in the mornings and evenings so Buck Watch Lodge lived up to its name! Nice sleeping and bathroom arrangements with a full bath and bedroom on every level. Convenient location for outdoor activities in and around Ellijay. The resort itself had a nice dog park and other amenities like tennis/pickle ball court and fishing areas. The river has with tubing access in the warmer months. The staff was super friendly and responsive. I called/communicated about the gas grill and a new one tank was delivered within 20 minutes. Will definitely keep the place as options for future getaways.

5 STARS Beautiful cabin! Everything felt brand new, uber clean and comfortable! Loved the deer that visited each day and the deer food was a nice touch and much appreciated. Best stocked cabin I have rented in a while and you can feel the love the owner has for the home by how thoughtfully it is prepared for guests. Everything organized and labeled well, kitchen well stocked. Arranged late checkout before arrival seamlessly - much appreciated! FYI Nice Keurig, no drip pot/french press available. The neighborhood is large so follow directions provided, not GPS. I recommend 4 wheel drive due to the steep driveway. River access is available and is absolutely stunning, but you will need a vehicle to get to and from with gear. Great fall getaway for my family - thank you!
